Just bought a brand new S21 to replace an older S10e. I bought the phone primarily for the extra "zoom" camera feature. Playing with the new phone now, the lower camera is not functional in any way I can access. In video and in photo modes, only the middle "wide" camera is used, and when I zoom to the max 12x and cover the lower lens with my finger, the image is still visible and most definitely being produced by digital crop of the 12MP middle camera. How do I enable or access this third zoom camera feature?

From DXOmark

Key camera specifications:

  • Standard-wide: 12 MP 1/1.76-inch sensor with 1.8μm pixels, 26 mm-equivalent f/1.8 lens, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS
  • Ultra-wide: 12 MP sensor with 1.4μm pixels, 13 mm-equivalent f/2.2 lens
  • Tele: 64 MP 1/1.72-inch sensor with 0.8μm pixels, 29 mm-equivalent f/2.0 lens

You have to change the size of your picture Screenshot_20211104-113908_Camera_15328.jpg

It apears the third camera only turns on in bright daylight.  In video if I shine an intense light at the scene I am zoomed into I can see the image switch to the sharper zoom camera module. Unfortunately I work at night so I never see sunlight #vampirelife
