Lost messages and stuck on the Messages app

After updating my phone and using Messages, I selected Google upgrade. Now, I've lost Messages and stuck on #messages app. I want to back out and just go back to good old Messages. I can't get out. Please help. I cannot put Messages on my front page

Just did same thing. Unable to get back to the good old message app I had. I want to get rid of Google upgrade messages. Any help? Plus my message are not therr

⁃   Choose Default Apps  >
⁃   SMS App  >
⁃   Choose Samsung  >

NOTE: If you can't find the Samsung Messages App on your phone, go to the Galaxy Store and download it again. Then follow the instructions above.

Any idea on how to get my Message Icon back? I selected to remove the Google Icon and lost it all. The Samsung Message App is installed, and it works but must use extra steps to open it. I can't uninstall and reinstall as that option is not available.

Try making a manually triggered Routine. You can attach this Routine to a widget on your home screen. This won't show the app's icon though.
