Well I recently updated to one ui 4.1 and I cannot use the home or back button. It was working perfectly fine before the update.

So if you do this do you have to totally wipe your phone? Or no? I don't know exactly what this is. A cash partition.

@Sassy2020 Wiping the Cache Partition just cleans out the stored cache date, does not affect your phone.

Here's the instructions. While I believe it to be a corruption which would be corrected with a Factory reset, this has not proven to be effective for this issue but it is safe and worth a try.

- If your device is powered on, turn it off completely

- Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power key

- Once the logo shows, release both keys and wait until the device enters the recovery mode.

- Using the Volume Down key, highlight Wipe cache partition, and then press the Power key to select it.

- Highlight Yes, and press the Power key again.

- Navigate to Reboot and press the Power key to reboot your device.

I have the same issues, at&t told me to process a warranty, im not sure if they will accept it since it seems to be a software malfunction

Mine updated this morning on 8/23. And I have gotten a black screen 5 times since. Couldn't do anything. Held down the volume down button and power button for about 15 seconds and it reboots. Never had any problems before today so I know it's the update. I hope they fix these issues.

That's exactly what happened to me plus my home button will not work anymore. I think I'm going to take mine into the Samsung store this weekend and see what they can tell me

Omg this is what mine is doing also.. after 2 times it will restart in safemode. I was just watching a show on HBO and received a txt and bamm started flashing and restarted. Then while typing up my error report it did it again and now it's in safemode..
