RCS chats not enabled on Google Messages

Hi! When I click RCS chats in Google Messages, it says, "RCS chats aren't available for this device Your device does not currently support this feature." 

My phone is updated, the messages app and carrier services app are updated, I'm using T-Mobile, and my phone is unlocked. I'm pretty sure I should be able to use RCS chats but I'm not sure why it isn't working.

EDIT: Thanks for all the responses! Unfortunately, none of them worked, but randomly today it turned on, so I'm not sure what caused it but I'll take it

I am using Google Messages on an unlocked S24 Ultra on the T-Mobile network and everything has been working for me.

Try allowing all the permissions in Carrier Services, just in case. That's what I did.

Yeah I've done that and nothing happened

If you're trying to set it up while on the wifi get off of the wifi and it should set it up. That's what I had to do for my phone
