Rcs chat on samsung messages

My mom and I have the same phone, however she can see when her messages have been read, and I cant?? There's also an option that isn't available on mine called chat settings? Even my dad has it in his s24. We all are on t mobile. The only difference is they are locked to tmobile and my phone doesn't have a service provider, it unlocked. Is that why?

On message setting turn on read receipt. Go to messages/ hit the Three donts on top right go tosettings than advanced messaging/ share read status turn it on

Advanced messaging doesn't show up for me. Idk if it's because my phones unlocked instead of locked to tmobile or?

In messages tap top right for settings theres a option to get notification when read

I don't see it. There's a thing in multimedia settings to show when read, but it doesn't seem to do anything for me

Are you saying you don't have a mobile carrier or that you just dont have a phone locked to T-Mobile? If you are able to turn RCS on, then you should have all the settings. Are you all using the same messaging app, or is one of you using a different one? For instance, are your folks using Google Messages and you are using Samsung? That would be the only reason the settings are different.

My phone isn't locked to tmobile, and we all use samsung messages, but for some reason, they are able to see when their messages are read and delivered, but I can't

That's odd. You should all have the same settings if you have the same version of the app. What happens if you switch to Google messages?

Idk how to check if it's delivered, I'm guessing it's the little checkmarks that show up below the message ? And they turn blue after read I think as that's what happens when I'm texting someone and they respond

The check marks show it has been delivered. They turn blue when it's been read. Keep in mind, though, that some people only read the response through the notification not the message and, in that case, it may appear unread. Also, some people specifically turn read receipts off. And receipts only apply if the person you are communicationg with is also using RCS
