I've had my Galaxy S21 for 2 days, and the battery life is absolutely terrible. It barely makes it 8hrs, and for most of that time, I'm at work and not even using it. I lost 30% of battery life listening to 3 songs. I understand it learning etc but this is ridiculous. Every other Galaxy I've ever had has had great battery life, right out of the box. Is it defective?

Mine gets pretty hot too, even with light use.

@Stoney08 I'm loving my decision to upgrade to the S21U from the S20U. I haven't had any problems so far. 🙂

There are many great reasons to stick with the S20... Not only were things taking away from the S20 for  the S21, there seems to be many tech issues.  Ideally, the tech issues will eventually get ironed-out, but the things taken away on the S21 won't be coming back...maybe that changes in the future... s22, s23, s24???

Same problem here with the S21 ultra, battery :battery: life is really bad, waste fast, even without using the phone and it over heats, I get a pop up notice that says: your phone is way to hot, let cool down to use multi window.

Some things that can help with Battery optimization, if you're just having a battery draining issue, is the following:

Optimize Apps:http://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001388/

Power Saving Mode & Battery Tips: https://www.samsung.com/latin_en/support/mobile-devices/what-is-power-saving-mode-on-my-galaxy-phone...

If you're receiving an overheating message check out the following link:

https://www.samsung.com/ph/support/mobile-devices/tips-to-protect-your-galaxy-from-overheating/

If you've tried troubleshooting above, when it comes to problems overheating or exorbitant drain to the battery, repairs would be recommended. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.

For international customers, please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html

I don't feel that this qualifies as a repair issue, there is some type of defect and Samsung should probably replace the phone under warranty. They should also officially recognize that a significant number of their devices are having a battery issue and that they are working on a solution.

I did all of these.  My phone was at 100% before I went to bed and 0% when I awoke 8 hrs later

Have done both of those things and set dark mode.  Batter just will not hold charge.  There is either a software problem or a battery hardware problem.  Figure it out and fix it.
