fingerprint sensor not working

I just installed a screen on my S21+ and the fingerprint sensor does not work. Previous screen worked fine for that. I removed previous fingerprint data, rebooted the phone and tried again. It tells me to cover the area. I have a big thumb, it is covered and damp or dry. There is no screen protector. The fingerprint test indicates DBASE_CAPSENSOR_CHECK failed and reads 0850 to 0890 and should be above 2500. All other tests pass.

Every other post I find indicated DBASE_CAPSENSOR_CHECK and DBIAS_TUNED_DBIAS_VOLTAGE are 0, so it isn't the same issue.

Is it a hardware issue or something else?

Hey I recommend you to clean your fingerprint sensor or take it to the closest samsung service or just use PIN or password

Cleaning won't change the test results for the CHECK function, now will it?

Yes, my face recognition works fine along with the PIN.

Paying for a diagnosis is and having it "fixed" with another screen is not on my todo list.

If it is a bad screen, I need to return it.

If you install the screen yourself, you may not have properly attached the wiring to the fingerprint sensor. Either return the screen, or try reconnecting it.

the sensor wires run thru a single display flex cable and the display is fine.

Not really because when I fixed mine everything worked except that and I find when I put back together it a wire came off.

Did you run a diagnostic for the fingerprint? There isn't anything that will come off here. Corroded maybe. The connector on the right is the display connector. About the only thing I can do is move that block with the QR code around a little. It will move the flex in that small connector some. I will try that, but I doubt it will do anything.
