I seem to recall in the past that Do Not Disturb gave you more options, whereas now there is less functionality. Specifically, I used to be able to make decisions about phone calls, texts and emails separately. Now, calls and messages are grouped together. If I wanted to let phone calls from certain people reach me during the night I could, but their texts would be silenced. Now, if I set it that calls can come through from someone, then automatically their texts can come through too! Why would you take away that choice and assume that people want them grouped together? If someone has an emergency overnight then chances are they will call, and I want that to come through. But if that same person just texts me about something while I'm asleep, why would I want to hear that notification? Why take away the ability for me to customize Do Not Disturb as I would like?

Can you post a screenshot of your DND settings options? I am still seeing separate settings options for messages and calls. 1760186902328.jpg

They are talking about the ability for separating calls and messages for individual contacts. In your screenshot they are grouped together.1760187070181.jpg

If this is the case, @ronniedes, your solution would be to add the desired contacts as favorites rather than configuring allowed contacts in DND. Then using the settings highlighted in my previous comment. This should achieve the desired functionality

You can still configure calls and messages separately using the "calls and messages" option. You can adjust notifications for things like email using "app notifications."1760186926275.jpg1760187195194.jpg

All I can tell you is, this morning at 3:30am I received a text, with the notification sound, from someone in my Favorite Contacts list. My phone is set to allow Calls from Favorite contacts only, while Messages are set to None. So why am I still receiving a message from someone on that list during the time period when my Do Not Disturb is supposed to be working?

Was that contact added to the "allow during do not disturb" section of the DND setup page? If so, you will need to remove them from that section.

This feature used to work, but it hasn't for a while. If 8 am in relax mode which turns on DND, I still get text from everyone even though only 2 people are allowed. I sent in a ticket about this months ago. They said they were aware of the problem and working on a fix. That was several updates ago.

I use DND daily and it works perfectly fine for me.

If someone is added to "allowed contacts" you will need to remove them or they will always ring through.
