How to get Samsung to block my phone

I never got smart things on the phone. My phone was stolen last week. I do have the IMEI info and it is registered under my account. How can they block the phone permanently?

Police report would probably help, that makes a paper trail

@kstout6 You should contact your carrier. They can block the IMEI and blacklist it.

You can slso erase it remotely, if its on (or when it turns on) in the find my phone. Maybe even be able to find its current whereabouts and set a secondary password.
