I updated my 22 ultra to the new One UI now I can't access my assistant with the corner swipe feature they LITERALLY just added not that long ago. Why change how a feature works if you're just going to keep taking the functionality away?! Sometimes I'm in a loud environment, I don't want to have to leave the room just to look something up.

Don't even get me started on how the assistant is now defaulted to the power button, making it so I can't turn my phone off. Are they off their gourds? Just leave things alone if it works, this new way of doing it is actually garbage and Samsung should be ashamed. And don't start with the whole "iT's GoOgLe'S fAuLt." It's in my phone's advanced settings, not Google or the assistant.

Pull down from the top right of the screen, tap the power icon, go to side button settings, change the long press action.

I appreciate the help immensely, now if only they would give back the swipe for assistant feature. At least one problem is solved -_-

Wish I could help you. I don't use assistants. And I believe Google Assistant has been replaced with Gemini.

Can still use "Hey Google" to bring it up, but it seems Gemini is the way they want to go. Shame too because assistant has sooooo much more functionality. AI is ruining phones (if you ask me, but maybe I'm just old fashioned)

I've heard the same sentiment about GA from people who use it. Unfortunately, everything is going AI. I'm not crazy about it, either.

what so you mean by it seems Gemini is the way they want things to go? it's 100% your choice which one you use and you can switch at any time. Just can't use both at the same time.Ayfg6lwY0o.pngqXlxNF6ne5.png

No it's not because if you select Assistant it doesn't function as before. It doesn't show results anymore and is only by audio. And that is the only area Gemini is actually.

I used Google assistant to start up apps and book meetings and send texts and all those was handled with less fuss by the old assistant.

Now the assistant mostly answers that it found something on the web, which it can't show because it doesn't appear on screen.

I see what you're saying, they are pushing things towards gemini, but honestly thats okay to me. they're implementing assistant features to gemini as it develops.

https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/14579631?hl=en&hl=en&visit_id=638832351907678558-3048202310... explains a lot of it.

I've had gemini as my assistant app for a long while now and haven't needed to switch to assistant, so I guess I didn't really rely on assistant as much as some people did.

as for finding something on the web, gemini is great for this. it's answers are usually super super long so I always tell it to tell me in a short summary lol VpNga53T6N.png

There's a setting baked into Gemini that will let you switch back. Btw, while I like some things AI brings, I do not like it being the go to or a standard on phones. K*lls people's creativity instead of letting them think for themselves.
