Hey, I'm looking for a little assistance getting my phone working.

Long story short: my phone was run over. The screen was broken and separated from the frame but the phone continued to work. I received phone calls and text but since the screen was missing I was unable to answer. I swapped the parts from my phone into a replacement frame and screen combo.

Unfortunately, the phone doesn't connect to the Wi-Fi or carrier network. I get (Searching) at the top left of the pull down menu, and a circle with a line through it by the battery notification where the network bars would be. The vibrate doesn't work either. But it does connect to the internet via ethernet using an adapter. Factory reset didn't resolve either of the issues. Also, Bluetooth and wireless charging work without issue.

Anyone experience something like this and resolve it?

Are there any ways to test the antennae that are installed?

Could the issue be the replacement frame?

Update: was able to update the firmware. Still no network change.

Update 2: replaced both antennae, both flex cables, speaker/buzzer, and USB port.

May try flashing the phone up with the latest Samsung official firmware for your phone from samfw.com and see if it's a firmware or hardware issue.

Thanks, 3Fees. I can't get the phone to search for updates without WiFi, but maybe your option will work.

@CallMeJay Sounds like your self repair wasn't successful. Either something has not been attached properly or something was damaged in the repair/transfer.

Yeah, that's why I'm looking for a way to test the antenna. I could switch back to my original frame but I'd have to take the LCD off the replacement.

The phone has a diagnostic component.  You can go to settings/device care/diagnostics and test all the components of your phone.  You can also get to the diagnostics though the support tab of the members app, whichever is easier for you.

You download the firmware and Odin installer to your pc, then use your pc to flash your phone, your phone is connected to your pc through usb cable. It's quite straightforward.

Sure, if you have any questions ask away, I have done several flashups without any problems.

It's official Samsung firmware so updates will continue.
