You can try going to settjngs>norifications>advanced settings>repeat notification alerts and turn that off to see if this has the effect you are looking for.
It was already off however I did toggle it on and selected only one app -Facebook- as the only one to repeat. Maybe this has to be toggled on and select -none- for apps to repeat alerts. I will test this method and come back with reults.
