Some time ago, I changed the missed call sound alert, but it turned out to be too loud and obnoxious. The missed call button no longer exists on my phone, so I can't change the alert to something quieter. I have cleared cache in the phone app in case that was the problem. Before doing so, the phone app didn't even appear in the app list. After clearning cache, now the phone app appears, but still no missed call button. I have hunted high and low on how to fix this and have found nothing. Thanks for your help.

Thank you! This worked! It didn't at first as it played both the old sound and the new sound back to back. But after I cleared the cache (don't know if that mattered) and restarted the phone, it did the new sound only. This has been driving me bonkers for months.

I have never seen a missed call button on a phone dialer app. Not on any brand phone. I do get missed call notifications, but that has the default notification sound (settings/sounds and vibration/notification sound.) You can go there and change your default notification sound to something less obnoxious or just change the volume. In the sound selector, you can select not only the sound, but the volume level you want it to be. You can also go to notifications/advanced settings/notification categories and make sure it's turned on. Then return to settings/apps/phone/notifications/notification categories and tap on "missed call" and change the sound of that particular notification and the volume level.

Thank you, but the default notification and the missed call notification, if it's been changed from the default, are not the same. Changing the default notification will not change the missed call notification. There most definitely is a missed call button. See Bruzzi's post.

Assuming that your using the Samsung Phone app and not Google Phone.

Open the Samsung Phone app

Tap the More icon (three vertical dots)

Tap Settings

Scroll down, tap Voicemail

Tap Notifications

Thanks, but it's not a voicemail notification I'm talking about. It's a missed call notification, for which there may not be a voicemail left.
