Galaxy S23As noted, I can't shut off my phone in order to do a factory reset because the phone is asking for a password which it won't accept.

Galaxy S23It is most likely a program only the repair services have access to. You are better off going to the uBreakiFix near you and having them attempt to unlock it, for a nominal fee. If they cannot unlock it, you can tell them not to reset it, but even if they have to reset it, you have a backup to restore (if you haven't turned off auto backup), so you shouldn't lose anything.

Galaxy S23You can force reset your phone by pressing and holding the power button and volume up key (even w/o password) and holding until the phone reboots. Keep holding the buttons until the Samsung logo appears on the screen and let go. You will be in recovery mode where you can factory reset the phone. Use the vol up/down buttons to navigate and the side key to select. Select factory reset - this will reset the phone and you can log into your Google & Samsung accounts and restore your backup. You will then be able to set a new password/pin (I would suggest both, so there is an alternate method of entry).

Galaxy S23The only way to get into your phone if you forgot your password is to either take it to a Samsung repair shop like uBreakiFix and have them try to unlock it, or you will have to factory reset your phone. If you have a current backup (and you should, the phone backs up to the Samsung cloud automatically every night), you won't lose any of your stuff. The instructions for force rebooting into recovery mode is in the post above.
Sorry, those are your only two options. If you have to reset your phone, all passwords and biometrics will be erased, and you will have to set them again. I would strongly suggest you write your password down in a safe place (not so safe you can't remember where you wrote it--and definitely not in a file on the phone), so this does not happen again. I also suggest setting a password you can remember, but not that someone who knows you can guess.
