This thread got marked as spam and presumably deleted the last time I made it. This is not spam, this is a legitimate concern regarding a problem I'm having on my device since the last update.

I updated my phone (S23 Ultra) yesterday (December 3 2024) and ever since updating I've had problems sending messages from my PC browser using the google messages site. Messages are slow to load, and almost every time I try to load or send something, it says

"Trying to reach your phone

Check that your phone is on and connected to Wi-Fi or your mobile network. Learn More"

Even though my wifi and the way my phone and PC are setup is exactly identical to before the update.

This goes away and loads and/or sends the message I'm trying to send as soon as I unlock my phone, but it is very inconvenient to have to unlock my phone every time I'm trying to send a message, especially if I'm just sitting at my desk at night. I use this app to avoid having to type things out on my phone keyboard.

If there's a new setting I can change to stop this from happening, please let me know. Otherwise, be advised that this is a new bug that only appeared since I downloaded the latest update.

Which update did you just get?I have no issue with messages for web. After the phone update did you wipe your cache partition? You should try that, or make sure you have a current device backup, reset your phobe and restore your backup.

You van also create a routine to keep your phone unlocked when connected to your home wifi network, that way you will not have to unlock your phone for your messages to go out. I don't recall ever having to do that but, then again, my phone has always been unlocked at home.
