My otherwise question Galaxy S23 Ultra makes ultra loud notification sounds whenever a Network Change is detected (wifi connect, Bluetooth connect, mobile network connection connect) and there is not way to disable this (controlled by Media notification volume).

The setting located under the following path cannot be disabled and us grayed out:

Settings->Notifications->App Notifications->Show System Apps->Android System->Notification Categories ->Network Status (<--greyed out!)

For such an expensive device, this feature prevent enjoyable use of the phone via headphones or auto whenever this annoying 4 toned notification than cannot be disabled happens. help please 🙏

@eddieu This sounds suspiciously like a 3rd party app is causing this sound. As a troubleshooting step you can boot into safe mode. If you don't get these notification sounds while booted in safe mode, you know that a 3rd party app is causing this issue.

Try this, Settings>General management>Reset>Reset network settings. Mind you, this clears all Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections/settings and you will have to reestablish them afterward.

Thank you for the suggestion, nuked all the Network settings as you mentioned but this option is still greyed out (and it proceeded with the loud notification to say it lost WiFi and reconnected to Wi-Fi sheet I put the password back in post reset)

This is the option that is grayed out which I think is making the noise. Network alerts and Network available can be toggled.Screenshot_20230901_100633_Gallery.jpg

I restarted in safe mode and I can't trigger the sound, I think your suspicion is correct. Any (other than to start deleting) how to narrow down the culprit?

@eddieu This is always the difficult part. I would make a list. Delete half. Is the sound gone? If so, you know it was one that you deleted.

If not, delete some more and retest.

Once the sound quits, you can individually reinstall items from the list that you just deleted to see which one is the troublemaker.

@LonhHiker thanks so much, I suspected as much.

Started disabling notifications at the individual app level

CULPRIT: Mi Fit -- my cheapie backup band to show my blood glucose was 'helpfully' notifying on every connection/disconnection....weird for sure, but not unheard of I guess.

Thanks to you and @VerbumVeritum for the troubleshooting, issues SOLVED
