Hello all, I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this issue. After updating to One UI 6.1.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Utra, I noticed that the sound from my phone noticeably came out worse in comparison to before updating to One Ui 6.1.1, either in phone-speaker mode or output mode like Bluetooth or Headphones. I can describe the sound as muddy, tiny with less clarity and bass. I've tried every setup in the equalizer, turning Dolby Atmos on and off... everything but none of those helped. This really affects my overall experience and honestly leads to big disappointment. For now, I encourage users who are having the same issue to report it to Samsung as soon as possible so that they can address this issue and fix it in the next update. Thank you!

Thanks, I'm not updating when it comes thru. Sounds like that update is very bad. Loosing features like smart select and the entire panel and spen option for smart select. There is a workaround I posted one. I have 6.1.1 on my tablet. Haven't gotten an S23U update yet. I'll wait until they fix all the issues. AI is not a value add for me. I'll take the other features.

I didn't see, I also didn't feel like reading it lol, but in case nobody suggested, check the "sound quality and effect" and change the different selections. It's all new. I thought I had a blown speaker in my car and I checked, because I was going to mess with the equalizer to see if I could make it sound a little better until I could get that fixed, and I saw that. I found one I liked and my speakers are fine. It sounds great again.

I've tried all the setups in the equalizer, even did a ton of custom adjustments too but none really improved the sound. It's the sound quality degraded possibly from a software bug so no matter you do, it will never be the same as before. Also what phone do you use? I wonder if this has happened only to S23 Ultra phones as I've seen a decent amount of users, especially S23 Ultra users, complaining about this already

@PockyDucky.
I own a S22Ultra, and I love the phone, but like with ya'll the sound sucks. I have done it seems like, 5000 adjustments and nothing changes. I use Galaxy ear buds, and at first the earbuds were working just fine. And thrrewout the day I noticed that the sound went from sound that was loud and adjustable, to null. I even called for assistance and I got nothing. I can't believe that the sound over a matter of hours went from excellent to poor. All in one day. How can we get this fixed. Apparently it is of Little importance that the sound quality and sound are failing. I can't afford to purchase a brand new phone That is insane. I don't think that Samsung even realized what was going on till this happened. Be that as it may, they, Samsung, need to get off their duffs and fix the sound problem. I have used ever kind of ear buds from the cheapest to the most expensive and no change. I am ready to Skip my phone like a flat rock across water to see if it can do even that. I love my S22 Ultra, but since this sound issue has raised its ugly head, I am beside myself. SamSung needs toand fast, cause it sounds like they eii resolve this issue or they are going to lose a whole lot of customers. Grrrrrrrr I want my sound back Samsung!!!! !!!!! !!!!!

These settings did help some but had to make sure atmos was turned off. Volume is still much lower than my original S20u when it was brand new.

yes same for me galazy s22ultra.

i went into spotify and upped all the streaming settings there and quality levels and it made a difference. but over all the sound is much more muddy.

also what just annoyed me a bit too. is that there is no way of seeing how looud the levels are. before it had a limit where the colour changed from grey to orange. now its all the one so i can not see if i am listening to it louder than it was before. it would be great if it had numbers on it or some way of gaging the levels.

went into eq as well and made my own profile again. but it still sounds muddy.
