Alternative Character locked

On my Galaxy S24 for my work phone, the Alternative Character option under Keyboard Layout is locked (grayed out) like it's unavailable for use. Is there a reason for this? And/Or can I get it resolved. I use it a lot in company texts.

Is your phone managed by your workplace? Maybe they disabled the function? Are you able to download and use an alternative keyboard?
