Hi I'm a new android user and was wondering how I mute texts from a specific contact

To turn off notifications for a specific contact on an Android device, you can use the Google Messages app to stop message notifications:
Open the Google Messages app
Open a conversation with the contact
Tap More Details or More
Tap Notifications
Tap Silent
