 You can't put more than 6 icons on Home Screen.

In Good Lock Home Up I can set the grid to max 6x6,  the grid size may depend on your screen zoom level in the display settings  and/or the width of your screen; or the icon size you select in Home Up.  The larger the icon, the wider the zoom would give you less icons on the grid.  You know you can group apps into folders to add more icons to your screen, unless you're one of those people who use a screen page for each set of icons.  As for the quick access/favorites, the number allowed would also depend on the icon size and screen zoom.

The maximum is 14 if you are on a Galaxy Tab. By the way, this refers to the Favorites tray/taskbar.
