Why are the options to disable certain types of notifications so limited now? There used to be an option where you could long tap a notification and then click don't receive notifications like this. At another point there was an option to go into your notifications and check off which ones you want in the notifications menu, but now there's nothing like that on the latest OS and I don't understand it. I have a Samsung Galaxy s24 by the way
Do you have notification categories turned on? You have to have them turned on. Go to settings/notifications/advanced settings, manage notification categories for each app and then return to the app notification settings and tap the notification categories text and enable/disable/set a custom sound for the notifications you want. For some reason, recent updates have been causing the default to not have the categories on.
This issue with notification categories is now coming up daily here in the Members app. Samsung, please turn on notification categories by default and make your software more user-friendly!
Yeah, it should not be off by default. It has become a ritual with me to make that the first setting I check after an update, as major updates tend to put it back to the default. What makes it even worse, is that many people do not even know that setting exists, as there is nothing about it in the tips and tricks of the "manual".
