I noticed this also, I researched and it was removed and given a new spot on the keyboard toolbar with a new update. You can't bring it back unfortunately because you can't revert the samsung keyboard update.
That's ridiculously stupid. Sometimes it takes me two taps to get the toolbar emoticon visible. Versus just tapping once. Now i have a double wide symbols button and no emoji button. Samsung can make some dumb decisions.
