Galaxy S24
I currently own an S10e. The phone still works great except for the battery life and occasional camera glitch. I'm currently going through chemotherapy for cancer and my family would like to gift me a new phone at the end of this treatment. Would the S24 be a good phone as my next, is there another you would recommend if the S24 was not? As well, what time of year or sale is the best time to purchase a Samsung phone?

I have the s24 plus. It's great. I can't comment on the s24, but I haven't heard anything bad about it. I've seen good and bad about the Ultra. Prayers for a speedy recovery šŸ™

S24 is a bit bigger compared to s10e. S24 has no headphone jack and no sd card. You could go to a store and play with the phone before making any choices

I would say it's worth it. There are a lot of upgrades from the s10 to s24. Processor speed, camera, memory. The s23 is nice too, if you want to save on price. I upgraded from an s20 ultra to the s24 ultra. The main difference between the s23 and s24 is the camera. The s25 is coming out very soon and usually the holidays are the best prices.

You realize the S10e last Android update was in March of 2023, meaning it has not been updated in nearly a year and a half and is now wide open for hacking. I would strongly suggest getting a new phone.

I would say the best time of year to buy any new device would be the upcoming Black Friday or Cyber Monday  sales.  There are always good deals to be had on Samsung at that time, whether you buy direct from Samsung or at a retailer.

It depends. Check out the features of the S24 and see if you need these most or all in your day to day activities.

I upgraded from a Motorola budget phone with a battery that was getting weak to the S24. I like the phone but one thing to point out is the battery is the weak part of the phone, it is for me anyway. Any kind of light to moderate use eats up the battery fast, 3 maybe 4 hours of screen time will use up the battery. I like the smaller size if the S24 versus my last phone and it does have nice performance, camera works great but have only taken a few photos. I wanted to try Samsung and a flagship phone but am now regretting my decision and think I would have been more than happy with a Samsung A series myself, even though they are a large phone they have the larger battery also. JMO.

Many companies give free phones to switch or just for being new or adding a line. Basically they're giving away the newest phones free all throughout the year. I just got the S24 and the galaxy watch 6 for free with... service of course. T Mobile pays you to switch
