Galaxy S24As the title indicates, I have very slow/choppy video playback of certain video files. If I open these videos in chrome, firefox or anything that uses the system webview it's effectively impossible to watch these videos. However, if I open the same video in Edge it plays properly. These same videos play fine on every other older android phone I have, samsung or not.
I suspect there is some kind of issue with decoding the videos, and no amount of tweaking seems to fix this problem. I assume Edge must do decoding of this video a different way than the rest of the system.
One video in particular I have on hand that I know for certain works on other older phones (pre android 14) is encoded in VP8, VLC reports the encoder as "Lavc58.30.100 libvpx"
Any ideas on things to try here?
