Considering to sign up but still taking the time to think about it. Both the phone settings and Members app have conflicting windows though. Which is the source of truth? Safe to assume the phone right?

Typically, protection plans are offered within 60 days of the purchase date. Your device is eligible with that window, after that it's no longer offered. Go off the day your purchased that device and count down from that day.
