Screen blackout in FB messenger

For the last week or so, if I'm on messenger and my s24 ultra switches to landscape then back to portrait, screen goes black for about 20-30 seconds, and will erase anyessage im currently typing.. soon after the last security update is when it started actually

Hey there! I can absolutely understand how frustrating it is when your screen is going black involuntarily. I found some troubleshooting that may help!

 

Restart Your Device: A simple restart can often resolve temporary software glitches. 
Update Messenger: Ensure you have the latest version of the Messenger app installed. 
Check for Software Updates: Make sure your Samsung device's operating system is up to date. 
Clear Messenger Cache and Data:
Go to your phone's settings and open the application manager. 
Tap on Messenger. 
Tap on "Storage". 
Tap on "Clear Cache" and then "Clear Data". 
Reinstall Messenger: If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Messenger app. 

 

If you've gone through these troubleshooting and the black screen is still persisting the next thing I would suggest is to reach out to Facebook directly!
