My phone has lots of CA certificates. Lots of which were "issued to" & "issued by" the same organization and common name. Not sure if that's OK or what exactly i should be looking for as far as trying to identify good and bad user certificates. Also should I have any user certificates? And if there's a link that shows all the trusted certificates, what is it?

You may see what seems like multiple certificates for the same organization, but they are most likely for different elements. *You* shouldn't be looking for anything, that's the job of the phone's built in protection or a reputable malware scanner.  I suggest that you turn on the phone's protection - settings/security & privacy/app security so you can be reassured.

I have verizon so it comes pre installed with "digital secure" and i purchased BITDEFENDER. I just don't know much about the CA certificates or the user certificates.

Well, if the certificates got past all that security, then they would be legit.
