I had the new system software update installed yesterday. Now, I have absolutely no audio notifications for text messages on Android Auto. It worked beautifully until I installed this update. Android Auto has not been updated since Sept 10, Google messages has not been updated since Sept 23. I have changed absolutely no settings. All the typical troubleshooting I have done as not worked. I've cleared caches on AA, & Google Messages. I've uninstalled all Android Auto updates and then let them reinstall, unpaired my phone with my vehicle and then re-paired it.
Google drive mode is disabled. When I enable it, it doesn't change anything. The toggles to get phone call and messages is on and the toggle to mute low priority apps and notifications is off.
Under safety and emergency in my phone's master setting, silence notifications while driving is off.
Update: after unpairing and repairing the phone from the vehicle multiple times, uninstalling and reinstalling the messenger app, and Android Auto's updates. I finally had Android auto forget the vehicle. After completely taking it out of the application, and restarting my phone, I re-added the vehicle to the Android auto app, and as for right now the problem is fixed.
