Galaxy S24
So...youtube has consistently been overheating the phone. No other app does this. I can watch Netflix, prime video which uses ultra high definition video, and other streaming services and none of these overheat my phone...but YouTube always overheats my phone and wrecks my battery. Is there a fix for this? Phone is the S24 Ultra

Have you tried clearing the app cache and storage? Or reinstalling the app?

Galaxy S24
Hello, yes I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. It doesn't help unfortunately. I routinely have to close the app and force stop it in order to reset the performance. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. Whenever I finish using the app though, I have to force stop it in order to reduce potential battery drain after the fact.

I have the S24 Ultra and it doesn't happen to me if I use it. Maybe try turning on virtual ram and background data usage in the settings as well and you should restart your phone every day regardless. At least once every 24 hours. I have never heard of this and it could also be the case if it's thick or doesn't let it cool. I have had mine since it first came out and with or without virtual ram on I don't have that issue. I also use YouTube music so I have never had that issue with either app. It could be the phone software itself as well. I suggest contacting Samsung about it or your mobile carrier and seeing if you can get it replaced with the warranty. I have never heard of this with other Samsung phones either as my parents have Samsung but not the s series. Also are you using it in a hotter place in general. Maybe also try good guardians thermal guardian but I think it's probably your case or it's a software issue. I've been using Samsung for quite awhile and never had this issue. I had the S23 Ultra as well.
