Youtube PIP can not pause

The youtube PIP display play/pause button does not work. Often happens as soon and I switch to another app. I have to go back to youtube then go to another screen for the pause button to show up again.

Turn Off and On PiP Permissions for YouTube

• Go to: Settings > Apps > YouTube > Picture-in-picture

• Toggle it off, then back on

• Reboot the phone for good measure.
