If you want to be able to edit a text message you would need to use Google Messages since Samsung Messages doesn't have the ability to edit sent messages

I use Google Messages and I'm unable to edit a message after sending it.

Odd I would suggest reaching out to Googles support community for help with this

Google messages lets you edit your texts up to 15 minutes after you send them. Long-press on the text to do it. I don't know if the Samsung app has that feature.

To edit a sent message in Google Messages, long-press the message you want to edit, then tap the "Edit" option (usually a pencil icon) and make your changes, finally tapping "Send" to save the edited message.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    • Open the conversation: Go to the Google Messages app and open the conversation containing the message you want to edit.

    • Long-press the message: Touch and hold the message you want to edit.

    • Tap "Edit": A pencil icon or "Edit" option will appear, tap it.

    • Make your changes: Edit the message as needed in the text box.

  • Tap "Send": Once you're done, tap the "Send" button to send the revised message.

  • Note: The edited message will be marked as "Edited" in the conversation.

Important Considerations:
  • RCS Only:
This feature is for Rich Communication Services (RCS) messages, not standard SMS or MMS.

  • 15-Minute Window:
You can edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it.

  • Recipient Must Have RCS:
Both you and the recipient need to have RCS chats enabled for this feature to work.

  • Beta Feature:
This feature is still being rolled out to users, so it may not be available to everyone yet.
