I'm in real estate and appraisal and am frustrated that Samsung has not added Lidar to their higher end phones and tablets. Our industry is moving to software tools that rely on Lidar for some functions. This is especially true for property inspections conducted by property inspectors, appraisers and real estate sales people/brokers. The only way to use this software to it's fullest is to change my whole ecosystem from Samsung/Android to Apple. I've have had Samsung phones since the first gen Galaxy phones, I would prefer not to have to trade my S25 Ultra, Watch 7 Ultra and Buds 3 Pro for replacements made by Apple. I was thinking if buying a Tab S but if I have to switch to Apple it makes no sense. By refusing to add this technology you are missing out on an entire sector of the market.

There are lidar peripherals that you can buy that are probably more accurate than an iPhone.

I get it you can buy a peripheral but would prefer to have to hold only one device. On top of that the competition has it and my $1,400, S25 Ultra doesn't. It's another feature they removed to save costs because no one used it. For many business users that will not be the case going forward.

The only "competition" with this is Apple.  You make it sound like every device that is not Samsung has this.

No, you can interpret it that way if you like, if I want the feature I have to choose Apple. I have only owned Samsung phones since the first Galaxy. if a different android phone had it would consider it. But I would prefer to stick with the Galaxy phones if I could. Not only that but Samsung offered it in the past and removed it. Now would be a good time to bring it back.
