Proper charging cable and wall charger for S25

Hi,

A bit confused. I see different "rated"  C cables and wall chargers for sale ...

Q: What type of USB C cable should I buy and what power output for the charger, for maximum charging speed?

The S25 should have come with a cable.  This is the one recommended by Samsung to charge your device.  Samsung also sells power adapters, the standard one is 25w and the super fast charging one is 45w.  When it comes to the brick itself, anything over 15 w should work as a fast charger, and anything that exceeds the phone limitations should automatically step down to a compatible voltage, as that is what the PD standard is supposed to do, and all chargers over 30w have the PD standard.

To get the fastest charging, you need the 45W charger paired with a 5A rated usbc cable. The cables that come with Samsung's phones are 3A rated. Even if you use a 45W charger, with the 3A cable, you'll only get fast charging. But I would recommend that if you buy a 5A cable, get it from Samsung. In my opinion, they are the best.

Phone came with a 1m with C at both ends. All my adaptors are A to C. Time to modernize. Thank you for your advice!

I'm seing PD, PPS and Samsungs SFC. Only the 25 watt available at Samsung.com.

I use Anker plug and cables. Super Fast charging works great on my S23 ultra.

I use Anker 313 45w charger and the anker 240W USB C to USB C cable these allow for superfast 2.0 charging. You don't have to use that particular brand but IMHO. A 45 watt charger and a cable rated at 240 watts will get you what you need.

Are there usb 2.0 and 3.0 standards? Which one is faster or does it mattet?

The "2.0" refers to what you see when you charge at maximum speed. When charging it brief message will say "Super Fast Charging 2.0" or along those line. A good source of tutorial information is YouTube. A general input like S25 ultra battery charging or similar. Videos can be played back or paused whenever needed.
