Subfolders aren't recognized by music app

I enjoy musc app sorting albums as folders. I saved my albums under performers name- album name in micro sd card . For example, Pink Floyd- Animals. The problem is I have so many albums as folders. It takes a long time to sort them with Music app. The SD cad has folder names ( artist names) and hold all of their albums as subfolders. The music app does not recognize that. My inexpensive mp3 players allow that. Any solution to this problem? Thanks.

You are not locked into using the Samsung music app just because it's on your phone.  There are many music player apps in the Play store, and you may find some that meet your needs.

However, within the music app, I believe you have the ability to create play lists and/or sort your songs by artist/album.  Even though they do not appear as "folders" in the app, the metadata is still attached to the songs, and the player will find them.  As a matter of fact, as I open up the Samsung Music app, there are headers for favorites, playlists, tracks, albums, and folders.  You can choose your view.

Thanks for your reply. I rearranged headers. Folders are my first choice now. The alphabetical list on right is a big help. I need to find another music app that shows subfolders in folders. I am surprised Samsung music app ignores that. It would be so helpful. My sd card holds over 350 GB music. Will investigate more. Thanks again.

I did something similar but I just did it by artist instead of album. This is my Pink Floyd folder1739827744404.jpg

I tried to sort and find my albums with Samsung music app and variety of mp3 players. Nothing is easier than keeping albums as subfolders in folders. I scroll find the performer I want , then select an album. Probably some apps allow that. I hate to give up Samsung app though. I like it a lot.

On that n7player is a great alternative. And you can actually ignore artist that start with "the"

Does n7player recognize subfolders? To me, that is the most important feature. Quicker to find what I want.

Did some search. Many praise poweramp app. Downloaded and tried. It was awful! Won't show an entire folder name and has poor access to sd card. Deleted. Tried folder player Awesome. Not as slick as samsung music app . However,it shows folders ( singer/band) names. U select. All the album names as subfolders are listed with entire name. It even has builtin eq. Very happy.
