"Bixby" saving reminders in "Samsung reminders" to "my reminders"

So, I recently switched from the Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra to the 25 ultra. To prevent this from being confusing, I will be putting names of certain things in quotes for clarification.

(Samsung Galaxy s22 experience)
Before when I asked "Bixby" to remind me of something, it would send the reminder to the "Samsung reminders" app. "Microsoft to do" was synced to "Samsung reminders". I had the "tasks" category (a "Microsoft to do" category) selected in "Samsung reminders" set as the list for Bixby to add to. This was seamless unless I needed to set a location reminder in a task. "Microsoft to do" cannot use location reminders but I only have a few of those. This was super easy and made my ADHD life so much easier. If I remembered something or thought of something and need to get it jotted down to think of it later, hey Bixby and it's done.

(Samsung Galaxy s25 experience)
Now, when I ask "Bixby" or even "Gemini" to remind me, it saves the reminders in "Samsung reminders" under the list of "my reminders". The "my reminders" list is a default list on "Samsung reminders". This list does not show up in the syncing of "Microsoft to do" in the "Microsoft to do" app. All of my "Microsoft to do" lists show up in "Samsung reminders" which is how it worked before. I have changed in "Samsung reminders" settings under "default category" to be "tasks" list from "Microsoft to do". When I open "Samsung reminders" or "Samsung calendar" and manually create a reminder, it immediately goes to "tasks" list through "Samsung reminders" to "Microsoft to do".

(My hypothesis)
I think that the default category for "Bixby" and "Gemini" is set to utilize "Samsung reminders" "my reminders" category and not the user selected default category. I think perhaps in the "Samsung reminders" app code for AI task setting, it just needs to be changed to follow the default category path selected in settings. I'm hoping this comes out in future updates of "Samsung reminders" updates.

Does anybody else have any feedback or potential solutions that I may implement. I reach an end and have spent probably close to 3 hours trying to fix this issue. On all four of the apps ("Bixby", "Gemini", "Samsung reminders" and "Microsoft to do") I have tried to erase data, uninstall, reinstall and relink in addition to everything that I mentioned above.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. 😁

Try uninstalling one or the other, Reminders or Microsoft To-Do and only use one platform. I totally get the ADHD issue ( I have moderate issues with it) it is difficult when trying to multitask and I get stuck on one. If I have to use a reminder function or really anything that functions in a similar way, I totally sue google calendar for that. That IS NOT to say that MTD or Reminders are not useful, only that my years if using Google calendar works for me. It may not for some.

Now if my reply doesn't pertain to the overall issue etc as a possible solution (until the next software update comes), then apologies.

Thanks for the suggestion Tom. I was kind of considering utilizing Google tasks with Google calendar. I definitely think that this is where I will land if I can't get this fixed. I can still go into Samsung reminders and select all of the tasks that I've created and manually change the list. I suppose I could set a reminder for this. 😂 I think I've been a Samsung guy for like 20 years and my current issues are having me thinking about getting a Google pixel based on integration. I've always gotten the best Samsung phones because the flagship phone always has a few advanced features that I really like even if nobody else uses them. The ultra! 😂 They used to pack all the little things in there that made me feel like **bleep** Tracy or inspector gadget! 🤣 Q is definitely was hooking us up. I think it was my 10 I had an infrared blaster. I remember programming it to friends TVs and messing with them, one time I even changed the channel in the jury duty waiting area after the assistant wouldn't change the channel for me because of "reasons". Because of that little extra feature, I got to watch the prices right and let's Make a deal.

As far as one of the other. Microsoft to do is only shortcoming is not being able to do a quick add of an idea with my voice. Most of the good ideas or things I remember come up while I need to be hands-free.

Samsung reminders does not have subtasks for breaking down larger ideas into smaller ones in a very integrated way. In Microsoft to do, I can have a list, a task and then subtasks. Like in Skyrim I can make my way across the map one time and complete several submissions.

I guess I don't want to give up on it yet. I'll post here later if there is a fix or if I found something else that works as well or better.

Google is well integrated into Samsung smartphones. I've been using them since 2015 (S5) with a few different models in between (an LG & a Oneplus).

The next software update should bring some things. As far as my suggestions, I'm not that far into using reminder type tasks to do in depth functions. I use Google calendar because it does tasks, reminders and events setups and any particular can be called up using AI (I use Perplexity instead of Gemini). But I'm clueless on doing anything making each tssk/reminder etc have multi-functions within them (if that is what you mean).

Anyway, I hope you find what will work best or even improve upon and/or how it worked well for you previously
