Gallery problems

I have a Samsung S26 Ultra & have discovered yet another problem between Android & Apple IPhone. When I download a picture from my Google messages that was sent by an IPhone user, it goes into an ALBUM titled "Messages" instead of going right to Pictures. Can't transfer from this "messafes" album to pictures either. So causes me problems - for example - when I want family photos together it doesn't work when I have family members that some use Android & others have Iphones. I like to have that altogether in one spot. My Samsung S23 Ultra worked perfectly so I know it's a newer issue with this S26 Ultra. Please Samsung, fix this!!

Why can't you transfer between albums? I do it all the time on my S26U.

Because the Pictures is not an album

Because it won't allow you to transfer from an album to Pictures- trust me - I tried everything & was on the phone with Samsung for over an hour. And it can't be done according to them🤨 Frustrates me!

Well, I beg to differ. I just saved 3 pics from Google Messages and transferred them from "Messages" to "Pictures" using the Gallery app. How are you trying to do it?

Please tell me how you are doing it - as I stated, the Samsung tech told me it can't be done.

I wouldn't trust Samsung CS to tell me how to get out of a wet paper bag.

Go into the Messages album in Gallery. Long press to select the pics you want. A menu will pop up at the bottom. Tap the 3 dots ("more" option) and select "move to album." Choose the album you want.

But the problem is that I want the pics to go to Pictures - not an album.

Pictures is an album. Is it not showing up in Gallery?
