Default weather complication on Watch Ultra displays wrong data

I've been using the default weather app on Galaxy watches for years, and its complication traditionally displayed the temperature as a number alongside a small weather icon. However, on my new Galaxy Watch Ultra, the complication now shows the temperature as a very small number and replaces the weather icon with my current location.

This change is problematic for two reasons:

1. Displaying the location is unnecessary (I already know where I am) and often gets cut off due to space constraints.

2. It lacks the weather icon, which provided quick, useful visual information.

I reached out to two watch face developers, who confirmed this is a known issue with new Galaxy watch launches and is typically resolved through a firmware update. In the meantime, they suggested using Googleā€™s weather app, as its complication displays the correct data.

While Iā€™ve reported this through the Members app and know others have as well, I wanted to reach out directly to the community to see who else is having this issue and to emphasize the importance of addressing this promptly. Iā€™d prefer not to rely on a workaround or a third-party app for something that previously worked seamlessly.

@Adrock318 Can you provide a screenshot of the watch face that you are using? Different watch faces present the weather in different ways.

To take a screenshot of our watch, just click both buttons (top and bottom) at the same time.

Here is a screenshot of the Matteo Dini watch face I am currently using.
The issue is I was using this exact watch face on my Watch 6 Classic and the data was displayed correctly. It was only since I changed to the new Galaxy Watch Ultra that the complication data changed. This is the same case with another Ballozi watch face I use. I contacted both developers and they said the same thing. They said the data should show as expected but it seems every time a new watch releases, the data doesn't display correctly until Samsung pushes an update to fix it. According to them, it was the same case with Galaxy Watch 5 and 6.Screenshot_20241227_152757_One UI Watch Home_1000042528_1735331281.png

You probably should change to a different watch face with a weather display that you like.

I don't think you're understanding me. These faces worked normally on my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. It only changed once I switched to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The devs stated this issue has also occurred on previous watches with the same faces and same weather complication. It's up to Samsung to update the wear OS or One UI. Many people also have this issue and have reported it to support VIA the Members app. A Samsung rep suggested I also write about it here in the community to gain more attention.

@Adrock318 I understand what you are saying. The developer needs to investigate and update their watch face to the current APIs provided by the latest Samsung UI and Wear OS. As a former developer, I can tell you that developers frequently include conditional code to handle new and old API usage.

BTW, this is a user to user discussion area so not something that is actively watched by Samsung developers.
