Just yesterday, I placed my Galaxy Watch 3 Bluetooth version on the charger to to recharge it from 15%.  This morning, I noticed a Warning symbol on the watch, with a red light on the charger.  The warning showed that the watch was overheating, and was dimming the backlight in order to cool it down.

I have done the following:

  1. Powered off the watch for an extended period of time.
  2. Factory Reset the watch, attempted to recharge it, and re-connect to my phone.
  3. Fully deplete the battery, then try to charge the watch again.

Every step ended with the watch getting unbelievably hot, and eventually shutting down.  Attempting to charge the watch now only starts the charging process, then after about 5 minutes, shows the same warning about the watch getting too hot!

Thank you for reaching out. I can certainly understand how frustrating this must be. Whether you're using a phone, tablet, smartwatch, or earbuds, all Galaxy devices have a set temperature range, where they operate at their best. While they may feel warm under certain conditions, like charging, this does not affect the device's lifespan or performance. What I am saying is that the watch heats up while powered on.  Not even while worn.

I've also noticed that the LEDs for the HR aren't lighting up anymore.
