Galaxy Watch

Hi - I have the new Galaxy Watch Ultra and today I started having trouble installing watch faces.  At first it said that certain watch faces weren't compatible (which I understand since this watch is running newer software).  So I checked today and it now says that some of the faces which weren't compatible before are now so I just assumed the developers of the watch face made changes to make them compatible.  However, when I install them, my watch says that they did install but when I go to look for the watch face they aren't there.  I figured that maybe I needed to install on my phone too (though that hadn't been the case previously) so I tried that and that didn't help.  When I open the companion app and click "Open on watch" my watch says that the watch face is installed.  Also, the watch faces aren't showing up in the downloads section of the Wearable app (not when I installed to the watch alone nor when I installed the companion app).  Has anyone else had this issue?  Is there something that I can do?  Thanks!

The Watch Ultra runs Wear OS 5 out of the box, which only runs watch faces built in WFF (Watch Face Format). That's not a Samsung thing, that's a Google thing. Watch faces built for previous versions of Wear OS (ie, most of them) are not compatible with the new version. I can relate because the watch face I have used for YEARS as my daily driver won't work. Developers are scrambling to get WFF watch faces to market: until then, however, our options are quite limited. Ah, the price of progress!

Hi - Thank you for your response. I did realize that upgrades are the reason why some of the watch faces aren't working. My question (and confusion) was why are some watch faces saying that you can install them and then the watch and phone will say that they were installed but yet they don't show up. Several days ago they were just saying they weren't compatible with the watch. When that changed I thought they had been updated. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Niagara, I'm not sure about any specific watch faces but there will certainly be growing pains as developers rush products to market. I finally found a watch face I can live with in the Play Store. Try searching for "WFF watch face" or "Wear OS 5" to narrow down the results.

I am having the same problem. I had a watch face (called ultra) that I have been using for a while now. It had everything I need on a face and now I can't use it anymore since I got the Samsung Ultra Watch. It's sad that the samsung faces are so limited, for eaxample, on the third party watch face I could see the phone battery right on the face. I hope somebody find a work around becuase not all of these faces will be updated.
