Watch showing "new message" instead of message content

When my Galaxy Watch Ultra was on UI 7.xx, I was able to block my message content on my Galaxy phone, yet still see it on my watch (which is what I preferred). When I updated to Watch UI 8, the watch displays "New message" instead of the message content. I also tried to display messages on my phone (I changed the phone settings) to see if the watch would mirror it, yet it still displays "New message" instead of the content. Has anyone else had this issue?

I figured it out...I needed to allow "show message details" and also toggle "block content on lockscreen"; although the message content will still show if the phone is unlocked

What happens if you tap the  "new message" notification? Does the content show?

It does not. I have to open the messages app from the app drawer to view the message. (I am using Samsung Messages)

Do the notification advanced settings in the Wear app still have "show details automatically when checking notifications after an alert" setting?  I do not have the OUI8 update yet, so I don't know what settings may have changed.

I see you have it turned on. So I guess that's not the answer either. Since I do not have oneui8, I don't think that I can offer any more suggestions. I hope someone comes by and does have an answer for you,

BTW, have you tried wiping the watch's cache partition?

I know you don't want to, but for the sake of experiment, what happens if you switch to Google messages? And turn off the notifications for Samsung messages?
