Home TheaterHi Friends, I recently purchased Samsung S95B OLED TV. I have Bose Soundtouch 520 Home theater system for Audio that I have been using since 2017. I noticed that when it is connected to HDMI 3 (eARC), the S95B outputs only LPCM 2.0 and not Dolby Digital 5.1. In the HDMI Expert Settings, the options to output were PCM and Auto. Even ARC suffices for Dolby Digital 5.1. Any thoughts on this? Please advise.
Thank you.

Home TheaterI am having this same problem using a Samsung HW-Q600A. There is no Dolby Digital option in the sound settings. My Samsung sound bar played Dolby Digital with my Samsung 55in (2018) just fine. The only options that I get are PCM and Pass Thru. I currently have it set to Auto which appears to just be Pass Thru as the Soundbar isn't saying Dolby like it did with my old TV.
I have the soundbar connected through eARC and am using a HDMI 2.1 cable.
Both the TV and Soundbar are up-to-date. Any ideas here?

Home TheaterHad the same problem. Fixed by updating firmware on S95B to Version 1406.6. Note that the online update process currently only goes as far as version 1304.1, so you have to do a manual USB update. Now I get full DD5.1 audio, and it sounds great.
There seems to be a lot of hate for Version 1406 out there on the forums, but to date I haven't experienced any issues. Thanks to Samsung AU support for their assist on this.

Home TheaterThat sounds hopefull. I get passthrough via hmdi to the soundbar and dolby digital and atmos work. However via apps on the tv I only get dolby atmos when available on yhe source, yet everything else is muli pcm. When playing via a app on tv like hbo max passthrough is not available and dolby digital does not work. I am on 1310. Does 14 fix this?

Home TheaterI am on firmware 1420 and having the same issues, DD ist not passed to my Denon AVR. Funny is, Atmos signals are passed through correctly, so playing Atmos Movies from Netflix or DS Video (synology app) on my TV is passed correctly to the AVR. I really hope they fix this, because there is still way more DD material than Atmos. If they can't fix this I will be replacing it with a Sony A95K once it gets cheaper.
EDIT: I just found out, if I turn of eARC in expert sound settings, I get DD+ again to my AVR, and apparently also Atmos, which seems strange as I thought only eARC supports Atmos but not ARC. Seems like, eARC works independent of this setting, btw, what would be the purpose of being able to turn off eARC anyway?
EDIT2: Turning off eARC also works for the Chromecast with google TV when plugged in directly to the S95B. I have also tried to play A Plague Tale Requiem from Xbox Series X (plugged into S95B) which apparently should support Atmos, but the AVR just receives a DD signal. Will have to try connecting the Xbox directly to the AVR to see if it changes anything.
EDIT3: I must correct. With eARC turned OFF, atmos signals are SOMETIMES passed to the AVR, but not always. I suppose it depends on the bitrate.
