Home TheaterI purchased the HW990C Soundbar recently and connected it to a Samsung QN90A Neo Qled UHDTV. The soundbar has been updated to the latest firmware. The problem with the soundbar is when all inputs /connections are connected, Sky Q & console into hdmi 1&2 and the QN90A tv connected via HDMI e arc the soundbar doesn't offer give sound output via D-in optical whatsoever which is very disappointing and not good enough Samsung. Another issue is wi-fi doesn't seem to stay connected on a long term basis as a lot of people are highlighting. I have 5GHZ full fibre 900mbps wi-fi so no harm to Samsung, there's no excuse for the soundbar not to stay reliably connected to wi-fi, some point in alexa, spotify and airplay 2 marked on the box if the soundbar won't keep a stable connection to the wi-fi.
What annoys me about the soundbar not accepting sound input via D-in from a 3rd party device is i have a gaming pc also connected to the QN90A UHDTV & an Acer Predator ultrawide gaming monitor. It is nice to game on the panaromic ultra wide gaming monitor as well as the UHDTV. Why Samsung does the HW-990C not accept or offer sound via D-in from the pc's soundcard or for that matter any other 3rd party device via D-in when the soundbar is also connected via HDMI e arc to the Samsung QN90A? It seems to be once the soundbar is connected to a compatible Samsung tv via E-arc that supports Q-Symphony that's it, it doesn't want to know or offer sound via another device via D-in which in my case is the pc, which is annoying having to have the tv on and sitting on a static display desktop with the sound output set to Nvidia QN90A as it as already mentioned is connected to the pc as well as the ultrawide GAMING MONITOR.
My point is samsung, if it has D-in and you connect a valid working source via D-in then it should only be a matter of selecting D-in via the Soundbar and sound should be coming via the soundbar without it having to go through the Samsung tv. Not good enough Samsung, Why can't I just have sound via D-in when i want as explained say when im gaming on the adjacent acer predator gaming monitor and have the joy of sound via D-in from the desktop pc's creative soundcard via D-in? Not good enough being tied to just having sound via HDMI E-arc, debating whether i have a faulty HW-990C because it should be offering sound both via E-arc and D-in on a select basis, it doesn't, why?
