Kitchen and Family HubI have a dual microwave oven, model number nq70m7770ds. After using the oven yesterday, a few hours later I realised that the house was extremely hot and smelled of burning. I realised that even though the oven was turned off it was still heating and was extremely hot. The auto lock mechanism engaged so it couldn't be opened. I cut power to it at the breaker and let it cool overnight.
When I turn the breaker back on however, it immediately starts heating up again. All knobs and the touchscreen display say it is off, but it's heating up, and drawing 4kW.
This seems extremely dangerous. I'm lucky I was home to cut power. Any ideas where the problem might be?

Kitchen and Family HubHey dannytrigo, while I'd like to welcome you to the community, I wish it was under better circumstances. I agree with realaud, this could be potentially dangerous if the unit is constantly on.
As we would like to gather additional information, please provide the full model code and serial number of the device as well as your best contact phone number, name, and email via private message to any of our Moderators, so we can look into this right away.

Kitchen and Family HubIt seems as if that's a pretty dangerous defect. If it is still under warranty, contact Samsung for warranty service. Even if it's not under warranty, contact them for a repair service near you. Something is not tripping off the shutdown control. Until it is repaired or replaced, keep it unplugged. Bear in mind, though, that a paid repair may cost just as much or more than replacing the unit.
