I began smelling propane in the house. The range was narrowed down as the culprit. I used a digital testing device to determine the propane was leaking at the purge valve on the regulator just beneath the red cap. All other connection points were free of leaks.

A new regulator was purchased and installed. Again, no leaks except for just beneath red cap. The insert has been flipped to the LP side as well.

What other reasons would there be for the old and new regulator leaking at this specific point only?

The Proā€™s donā€™t seem to have a answer. We had a pressure done on the outside tank. Waiting to see if that determines anything.

I drilled out the rivets on the old regulator to look. The inner diaphragm had no tears. However, the gas is getting around the diaphragm someway.

Iā€™ve seen post from a couple of others that have had the same issue but no answers. Iā€™ll reach out to Samsung direct and see if they can provide any answers.

Just a update to my situation. Short  version: Gauge on the outside tank was stuck. So, we thought we had plenty of gas. However, after we ran out of gas we realized the tank was empty and weā€™ve been chasing a smell that was  the result of a low tank with a gauge that fooled us into thinking we had plenty of gas. šŸ˜‚
