No it does not plug and play
I had to go into the internal settings to activate Bluetooth on the tv

No, I mean the speaker brand. Does the speaker brand have an app you can see what is connected the location, equalizer. If no app, then I would try another device that is Bluetooth maybe it is the speaker.
