Monitors and MemoryHello,
I recently installed a SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB as a second SSD on my motherboard (X470 GAMING PLUS 2.0).
The SSD was installed with a Thermalright M.2 Heatsink Cooler.
I have not yet started using the SSD and its idle temps are about 38 degrees C.
My other SSD (brand: ADATA) runs at about 24-25 degrees C under moderate use and uses a very simple heatsink that came with the drive.
- What temperatures do others get (or what should I expect) when using the 970 EVO Plus?
- For those using a heatsink with this SSD, which do you use and is it effective?
Thank you for any help you can give.

Monitors and MemoryAnyone else use a heatsink? If so, what model is it and would you recommend it?

Monitors and MemoryI have 8 nvme drives in my gaming machine, 4 with external heat sinks. I have tried a few different sinks and my favorite is the EKWB. Opinions, mileage, and results may differ.

Monitors and Memory@ddaniel51 Thank you for that information.
What is the difference, if any, between the heat-sinked NVMes and the non-heat-sinked ones?

Monitors and MemoryCouldn't tell you as the other 4 are in an Asus Hyper card with a fan and case as a heatsink.
The 8 drives 960's, 970's, and 980's vary from 29 to 34 c.
