Monitors and MemoryI have a 32 gb samsung evo memory card, which I want to use again after it was not being used for some time. It is more than 5 years old. The problem is that I cannot delete any data previously stored on the card or just format the card, because It is 'write protected' . I have tried just about every potential option, such as chkdsk, regedit, cmd installing special sd card formatter programs and running the card through them, and so on. I have run out of ideas. The customer care at Samsung is also not helpful at all. Please help.

Monitors and MemoryIf you used the card in a previous Android device and formatted it to be used as internal storage (as you could on older devices), then the card is locked to that device and can only be reformatted on that device to be usable as removable storage. If you no longer have that device, you are out of luck and will have to get a new SD card.
If you have the SD card adapter that came with the micro SD, you can try inserting the SD card into the adapter, making sure the write protect lock is off and putting in a card reader that connects to the computer or phone and then try formatting the card. If you can format it, once you remove it, it should remain un-write protected. The micro card itself has no unwrite protection switch. I'm not sure, as I've never put an SD card on write protect, so I've never tried to un-write protect one.

Monitors and MemoryHello AYPARIDA ,
Unfortunately, MicroSD cards will only go into a write protected state if there is problem with the card itself.
Write protected mode is not activated because of a setting issue.
This only happens if the MicroSD card is defective or if you previously activated security using something like a cell phone or tablet that has security features, which means you will need the original device and password you set to remove the security.
Write protected mode allows you to get your data on your MicroSD card before the it fails. You should be able to get your data and then purchase a new replacement.
