My MacBook Pro with the M4 Max Chip connected to the G80SD via DP experiences sudden screen flickering after waking up the computer.
And after the Mac goes to sleep, the G80SD frequently wakes up on its own, prompting that DP is not connected.
After I used HDMI to connect the Mac, all issues were resolved.
My Mac's system firmware is macOS 15.3.1, and the firmware for G80SD is 1313.2.
Does anyone have any good solutions? I can confirm it's not a cable issue; this cable works perfectly with the 32GS95UE and AW3225QF. Of course, I also tried using the DP cable that comes with the G80SD, but it's still the same.

Monitors and MemoryHello! I would also recommend test the monitor with another PC if possible, this is to see if there is a specific issue with the monitor if it's a compatibility issue with the Mac. As you said that it was resolved using the HDMI cable, there could be some with the display port on the monitor. You can also try a factory reset on the monitor to resolve this issue also. As the only other step after this would be service. Depending on your warranty, you will have a few options for service.
- If your device was recently purchased, you can check with your retailer on their return/exchange processes.
- If you have an extended warranty you can reach out to them to have service processed.
- If you're within the one year warranty, you can Private message me or one of our moderators or you can call in directly at 1-800- 726-7864 with your full model and serial number to have service setup
- If you're OUT of warranty, for depot type products (Soundbars, Home Theater Systems, tablets, ect.) that require to be shipped we recommend you speak with our depot team for pricing and to have the service set up: 1-310-669-4334.

Monitors and MemoryThis is a DP cable problem. I have had this type of issue before but with my PC.
I replaced my cable and it was fine. Use the one that came in the Box with the monitor or buy a new high spec / quality cable (but not a long cable).

Monitors and MemoryI am very sure this is not an issue with the DP cable. I have tried replacing many DP cables (including the one in the G80SD box), and it's the same. This problem only occurs at the moment the monitor wakes up to display the Mac input source screen. It does not happen during normal use of the Mac.

Monitors and MemoryNope~
I only have a Mac, and I have the PG32UCDP, 32GS95UE, and AW3225QF, none of which have this issue. It can be determined that it is not caused by the cable.
It seems to be a compatibility issue between the G80SD and the Mac.

Monitors and MemoryHello, @Rabbit_Spec Thank you for reaching out. Can you advise if the symptoms are still persisting today? If so, can you please provide the detail model name of the DP gender you’re using?

Monitors and MemoryHi, I am using an M4 Max MacBook Pro, connected to a CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock, using the TS4's DP 1.4 interface to connect to the G80SD.
There are still two other issues:
1. when the Mac enters sleep or standby mode, the monitor is irregularly awakened, displaying no signal input source (the Mac itself does not output a signal), and the monitor goes back into standby mode, repeating this cycle.
2. After enabling game mode on the G80SD, connecting the Mac to the G80SD at a variable refresh rate of 240Hz results in an issue where the monitor cannot be awakened. For instance, when I press the keyboard, the G80SD powers on but displays no signal input; I have to press the keyboard again for the G80SD to recognize the input source and show an image. This problem occurs with both HDMI and DP connections. If game mode is not enabled, a single press of the keyboard successfully wakes the monitor.
My Mac has been updated to macOS 15.4, and these three issues still persist. I have never encountered such problems with other monitors like the 32GS95UE or AW3225QF. Personally, I suspect there is an issue with the compatibility of the G80SD with Mac. The firmware version of my G80SD is also the latest 1313.2.

Monitors and Memory“when the Mac enters sleep or standby mode, the monitor is irregularly awakened, displaying no signal input source (the Mac itself does not output a signal), and the monitor goes back into standby mode, repeating this cycle.”
This issue is not an isolated case, and there are also feedbacks from other users on Reddit.
