This just started. The canara flash fires off when I open the phone or open an app. Not the same app every time. It's not every time I open the phone, not every time I open an App. Flash notifications are OFF. Flash screen notifications are OFF.

All software is up to date.

Hello @KJW, Thank you for reaching out. We understand how frustrating having the camera flash randomly flash when opening an app. There are some steps to try to stop this behavior.

Try clearing the app cache. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00077611/

Test the phone in Safe Mode. (This does limit you to the default apps on the phone.) https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

Clear the cache partition and repair apps in the recovery menu.

To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.
- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.

A final step would be to factory reset the phone. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
If the flash continues, it is recommended to have the phone evaluated by an authorized service center. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by calling customer support at 1-800-726-7864.
