QLED and The Frame TVsWe've just got a new Samsung 50" Q60D QLED TV, and the sound is pants, but based on other reviews of Samsung TV's, not a real surprise.
I've set it up to work with my audio receiver via an optical cable. If the TV is set to TV Speaker, and the option for Simultaneous Optical Output is set to on, I get normal sound through my receiver and speakers, but no Dolby output, which is to be expected.
When I change the Sound Output to Receiver (Optical), I get a Dolby signal output (the blue light appears on my receiver and get surround sound), but, and this is a big but, there are no voices. It like the main audio stream for the vocals is just... missing. I can hear all the action, background noise and music of the scene, but no vocals.
This happens no matter what connected device I'm using or the installed apps (Netflix, Paramount+ and Apple TV).
If I change the settings in 'Digital Output Audio Format' to PCM instead of Auto, I lose the Dolby output, and get the normal sound back with vocals.
Software is up to date. Tried a factory reset. Tried 3 different optical cables.
I have no idea what the issue could be. Can anyone please offer some advise/help?
Many thanks.
